Guide to XCTU
This page will serve as an introduction to XCTU
Overview
If you are working at all with XBee devices, you will probably want to have XCTU installed onto your system. XCTU is a tool that is used for configuring and monitoring XBee devices. In addition, it is helpful for flashing firmware and verifying the integrity of the network by visualizing other devices connected to a single XBee network.
Installing XCTU
To install XCTU, simply follow the steps at this guide.
Tips for Using XCTU
Before launching XCTU, make sure the XBee is plugged into the XBee Explore USB Dongle on your computer.
If you are trying to connect to the XBee on the Arduino, you will need to make sure that a few conditions are satisfied:
Set the switch on the XBee Shield to UART. This will allow the XBee to communicate directly with your computer.
Make sure there are no Arduino sketches running. If necessary, upload a blank sketch. This will make sure there are no serial messages being sent that will confuse XCTU.
